The Company
beyond… was first established by Kathleen Stacey as a business in 1998, changing structure to become a private propriety limited company in 2000. The company conducts consultancy, evaluation, research, training and therapy work in human services fields, with a specialist focus in health, education, youth, early childhood, mental health, and family and community support services. It has developed a strong reputation for culturally respectful work with Aboriginal programs and organisations.
Commitments
beyond... is committed to:
- providing services that demonstrate and promote integrity, imagination and new possibilities in the directions that clients wish to pursue.
- developing and implementing participatory approaches within its consultation, facilitation, evaluation, planning, research or training work.
- creating and maintaining accountable partnerships, particularly when working in partnership with individuals or groups where power inequities exist; for example, when working with Aboriginal colleagues, groups and agencies, young people, or consumers of mental health services.
beyond... consciously adopts a horizontal rather than vertical organisational structure through nurturing relationships with other consulting groups and research centres that have a diversity of expertise and interest areas. The people with whom Kathleen chooses to collaborate share its commitments, which are also inculcated in beyond...'s employees. This enables the company to choose the most appropriate people for creating project teams, whether the project is small or large-scale or has local, state or national reach.
